The Eames Plastic Side Chair is Vitra’s re-edition of the now legendary Eames Fibreglass Chair. It is based on the original 1950 design – the first industrially manufactured plastic chair. In 1993, Vitra discontinued production for ecological reasons, as fibreglass cannot be recycled. Thanks to recent advances in technology and materials, we are now proud to offer the Eames Plastic Chair – in the exact same shape, but made of polypropylene.

The shell of the Eames Plastic Chair is connected to the metal frame using shock mounts, resulting in a comfortable seat even over long periods. The chair is a good choice for a wide variety of settings, both indoors and outdoors; for domestic use, restaurants, waiting areas, offices, conference rooms, or even large auditoriums.

Materials & Finishes
Polypropylene seat shell, dyed through. Base in chrome or powder-coated base. Plastic glides are supplied as standard.
