The small, round "Bilberry" lamp is particularly suited as a spotlight. It was used as such in the Maison Louis Carré (Alvar Aalto 1956–1958), a renowned French gallerist’s house. Beautifully made from painted steel, the A338 is a distinctive and character rich object, that has stood the test of time and will continue to do so.
As one of the great architects and furniture designers of the 20th century, Finnish designer Alvar Aalto breathed life and warmth into modernism, placing emphasis on "organic" geometry; supple, natural materials; and a respect for human feeling.
Alvar Aalto's collection of mid-century furniture and lighting is produced exclusively by Scandinavian brand Artek including the iconic Artek 60 Stool.
