Each week, we bring you something a little bit different from the last, whether it be the latest design news, a classic design revisited, a recent exhibition or trip or an exclusive guest edit from an influential designer or blogger. Remember, we love to hear your feedback, so why not let us know what you think about our blog posts by email or Twitter? Enjoy!
From all of us at Nest.co.uk, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and successful New Year!
It’s Christmas Eve, the mince pies are going down a treat and we’re all feeling rather excitable and nostalgic over the past year! We’ve travelled far and wide, welcomed a number of new members to our team, introduced exciting brands, established interesting partnerships and last but not least, developed our new showroom into a warm and welcoming space since our move in 2013. We’ve also experienced a significantly large increase in our social following, which we couldn’t have achieved without you guys – of course! We’re incredibly grateful for your continued support and custom and we hope that the new year brings you all that you wish for. This week, we take a look at some of Nest.co.uk’s most momentous highlights from over the past year.
From dining with Muuto in Copenhagen before DesignTrade to marvelling over the striking Foscarini light displays at Clerkenwell Design Week, this year has brought it all. We’ve experienced all things Precious at Salone del Mobile in Milan, visited the Vitrahaus in Weil am Rhein and wondered over metallics at Tom Dixon’s Club collection launch. Every trip was unique and special in its own way, but each of them had something in common – we always attend to be inspired, build our knowledge and bring you exceptional new design to help you curate your perfect space. Plus, we always have a lot of fun along the way too!
ByALEX, Terence Woodgate and Two.Six have brought exciting new variations to our online collection and given us further items to add to our ever-growing wish lists! With a focus on functional and simple aesthetics, ByALEX produce pure and exceptionally-crafted A-frame furnishings that are designed to last a lifetime. Function is also a high priority for Terence Woodgate, a renowned industrial designer who launched his first lighting collection entitled ‘Solid’ in 2014. Bringing a slightly different twist than ByALEX and Terence Woodgate, Two.Six produce vibrant and eclectic furnishings designed to improve our daily living.
Two things particularly standout from our nifty Instagram detective work and these are A) that you certainly have a soft spot for Muuto and B) that you definitely love your product shots! The image of the Muuto Balance Vases received the highest amount of likes and rightfully so – their beautiful sculptural forms certainly intrigue us too.
