Characterising designer Oki Sati's playful outlook towards design, the s1 Pendant Light incorporates ingenious solutions to provide variety and flexibility. With a striking conical structure, the geometrical appearance of the s1 pendant light captures attention, while the lacquered steel shade directs light elegantly downwards. Two connecting wires at the top and bottom of the shade allow for adaptability in wider situations while providing an element of interest to the minimal piece.
Behind the Nendo trademark is Oki Sato, the Japanese designer born in Canada in 1977. Sato graduated in 2000 from Tokyo's Waseda University and went on to specialise in Architecture (2002). While still a student, in 2002, he won the Gold Medal at the Koizumi International Lighting Design show, in addition to many other awards.
Oki Sato founded Nendo Design Studio in 2002 and has since gone on to product contemporary designs for Cappellini, Foscarini, Wastberg and Louis Poulsen.
