The top and bottom surfaces are covered in different fabrics to create subtle or bold colour accents, which are further enhanced by contrasting binding around the edges. The designs are coordinated in colour and size with such classics as the Vitra DSW Eames Plastic Side Chair, the Panton Chair or Prouve's Standard Chair

Dutch industrial designer Hella Jongerius was born in de Meern, Holland in 1963. She studied at the Academy for Industrial Design, in Eindhoven and first gained notoriety in 1993 as a member of the renowned Dutch design group Droog Design. In 2000 she started her own Rotterdam-based design company with the company-name 'JongeriusLab'.
JongeriusLab creates a unique collection of products including contemporary ceramics, textiles, tableware and modern furniture. Her works deliberately show the traces of how they were made, embracing imperfections and unusual mixtures of materials and techniques.
