First unveiled in 1956, Ekstrom’s Lamino Chair is defined by its beautiful high-backed design and luxurious sheepskin upholstery. The chair is made by skilful craftsmen in Vaggeryd in southern Sweden, crafted from laminated veneer which is carefully pressed into its stunning, sculptural shape that priorities timeless style, inviting comfort and longlasting support. The anniversary edition of the Lamino is made from white pigmented oak and covered with an exclusive sheepskin in the colour Honey, finished with a discreetly placed anniversary seal on the back of the chair. Yngve Ekström was born in 1913 in Småland, Sweden, where the country’s oldest furniture factory was situated. Ekström started working in the factory at the age of 13.
His talent for carpentry gave him a unique feeling for materials and construction. With colleagues like Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen, Yngve Ekström was part of the post-war modern movement that made the concept of “Scandinavian Modern” world-famous.
