A smooth brass body, available in two finishes, has been paired with a mouth-blown opaline glass globe, forming a stunning contrast in materials and textures. An adaptable piece, the O1 can be positioned either on a ceiling or wall, ideal for use as a sophisticated spotlight or for clustering along a wall up a stairway or in a corridor. An elegant design that marries simple geometric shapes together, the Michael Anastassiades O1 Ceiling / Wall Light can be used all over the modern home.
Positioned between fine art and design, Michael Anastassiades creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian and almost mundane, yet full of vitality one might not expect.
He launched his studio in 1994 to explore contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture and environmental design. The studio’s philosophy is a continuous search for eclecticism, individuality, and timeless qualities in design.
Michael Anastassiades trained as a civil engineer at London’s Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine before taking a masters degree in industrial design at the Royal College of Art. He lives and works in London.
