Poul Christiansen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1947. He graduated from Copenhagen's Royal Academy of fine arts, School of Architecture, in 1973.
Boris Berlin was born in St. Petersburg, former Leningrad, USSR, in 1953. He graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts and Design, Leningrad in 1975.
Before establishing Komplot Design with Poul Christiansen, Berlin worked for Penta Design (computerized working place for Danish Post and Telegraph).
