Designed alongside the Egg Chair for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the footstool mirrors the impressive curves of the Egg and, in turn, reflects Jacobsen’s desire to create consistent and better-integrated furniture pieces. Boasting a stylish balance, the curved stool boasts a refined form upon a slim metal star base.
Like the 150th-anniversary edition of the Egg Chair, the footstool is similarly upholstered in an all-new dark-brown, chestnut variation from Fritz Hansen’s own Grace collection, a highly tactile leather with rich colouring.
Arne Jacobsen was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Jacobsen’s buildings and products meld modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
Arne Jacobsen is synonymous with stunning Danish designer chairs and lighting. His most iconic designs include the Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair, Egg Chair and the AJ Table Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
We take a look at some of Jacobsen’s most iconic designs in our guide to the The Grandfather of Modern Danish Design.
