Designed for Foscarini by Marco Zito, the Caiigo light creates an elegant atmosphere of delicacy and grace. The change in the opacity of the mouth-blown glass creates a unique frosted shade that diffuses light in different directions; creating a mesmerising hanging feature. With a smooth contrast between the glass shade and industrial cylindrical metal base, the light can be used for task lighting hanging low over a desk, or clustered in a set over a kitchen counter worktop.
Marco Zito is an architect who graduated under Vittorio Gregotti at the IUAV in 1994. Since 1996 he has been teaching in the faculty of Design and Arts of IUAV Venice and Industrial Design degree course of the San Marino University, as well as at the Industrial Design Centre of Montevideo (Uruguay), as invited lecturer. He received many recognitions (Design Index ADI 2004, selected for “Steelon”, Viabizzuno production; prize at “Batimat 2005” design for innovation trophy, Paris; the “lettere” illuminated system design, produced by Viabizzuno; Design Index ADI 2007, selection for “lettere”, Viabizzuno production).
