Named after the Anglo-Saxon measurement term, 'furlong', meaning the length of a common field that a team of oxen would plough through, the Furlong Blanket has been woven with a thick flecked Irish tweed yarn and a contrasting fine wool. The striking storm blue colour and muted lined pattern create a beautiful depth and enriching texture, perfect for creating a warming and cosy atmosphere on a winters evening.
In her own words, British textile designer Eleanor Pritchard has "always loved playing with colour and pattern. My work often has a mid-century quality and I feel a strong affinity for the aesthetics and design philosophy of this era. Alongside this runs a deep interest in vernacular British textiles and I see much of my work as a re-interpretation of these traditions and techniques for a contemporary audience.”
