This chair was first designed in 1948 and presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition 'Low-Cost Furniture Design'. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.
Vitra has retained Charles & Ray Eames’ idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases, in order to achieve the widest use for the chair. With various bases, the Eames Plastic Armchair is suitable for the home, cafés, offices, lobbies or waiting rooms and training areas.
