The Eames Plastic Armchair is available once again. A beautiful example of modern and contemporary design. This chair was designed in 1948 and first presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition 'Low-Cost Furniture Design'. Their organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various different bases and manufactured in their millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.

Due to innovations in technology and materials, it is now possible to produce fully authentic seat shells made of ecologically friendly, recyclable polypropylene in various colours.

Vitra have retained Charles & Ray Eames’ idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases, in order to achieve the widest use for the chair. With various bases, the Eames Plastic Armchair is suitable for the home, cafés, offices, lobbies or waiting rooms and training areas.

Materials & Finishes
Polypropylene seat shell, dyed through. Base in maple.
