Disclaimer
The Copper shades share the same special vacuum metallisation process which has been developed over a number of years by Tom Dixon in partnership with our factory. The technically complex nature of this process (i.e applying a very thin layer of real metal to the internal surface of a polycarbonate form, which is then UV coated) requires highly skilled workers, specific machinery and clean environments to meet our demanding quality levels. We have sought to perfect this process but due to environmental conditions outside of our control, there may at times be evidence of extremely small holes appearing within the metal coating. We have worked hard to minimise this as far as possible, and often these products do not show evidence of such imperfections but it is always good to be aware just in case the event should arise.

In addition to research and development of the production process, we also have to adhere to specific European Directives (such as “The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive” (RoHS) 2002/95/EC) and certain safety standards required by the international marketplace (British Standard, European Certificate, UL Rating, CCC and so on.
