The form of Mingus is organic even though it is formed by four straight facets. The lamp's top is flat and fitted with an acrylic fixture that allows some light to seep out. The bright ring, therefore, sheds a faint light onto the cord.
The colour tones also change in different light and can take on the colour of their surroundings. If several lamps in different hues are installed, they interact with each other, eventually producing new tones.
Cecilie Manz was born in the Odsherred region of Denmark. As the child of parents occupied with art and design, designing always formed a natural part of her life. In 1998, a year after she graduated from the Danish School of Design she started her own studio, Manz Lab, the centre of her work ever since.
