In 1966, architect and designer Warren Platner transformed steel wire into sculptural furniture by welding hundreds of vertical steel rods to circular frames. The result is a harmonious and elegant collection of chairs, tables and stools. All metal components are finished in a polished nickel or bronze paint finish, offering the ultimate in timeless design.
The Platner range includes a Lounge Chair, Side Chair, Dining Table, Coffee Table and Side Table.
Warren Platner studied architecture at Cornell University. Following his work with legendary designers Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen and I. M. Pei, he immersed himself in the creation of steel wire furniture, devising the method and tooling to produce the lounge chair in the line as well.
Notable among his residential and commercial projects are the Georg Jensen Design Centre and the Windows on the World restaurant in the World Trade Centre, both in New York City.
