Utilizing the strut element that Franco Albini had previously applied in the design of the iconic Veliero and Infinito bookshelves, the 839 TL3 Round Dining Table boasts legs that that are turned along their entire surface, except for the square section onto which the horizontal glass table-top is placed. The upturned wooden cones that surmount each leg act as spacers between the cross-beams of the frame and the table-top, which, given how light it looks, almost appears to be suspended in mid-air. A beautiful and practical piece, ideally utilised in a kitchen or dining room for dining and socialising with family and friends.
After graduating in architecture at Milan Politecnico, Franco Albini worked simultaneously in fields of furniture, product design, architecture, urban planning and interior design. His sentiments as a rationalist architect translated into remarkably transparent furniture designs, which display a knowledgeable use of materials while presenting their internal structure and processes of production.
