The seemingly abstract composition of the mirrors, cabinet and surface is based on the gestures and daily ritual of dressing up and grooming.
The dressing table was designed especially for the 2012 Dan Haus project. This was an installation by Doshi Levien for IMM Cologne that explored Jonathan and Nipa's vision of a perfect house. "Chandlo" was situated in the dressing room zone with an architectural juxtaposition of forms and plans.
Doshi Levien is a London based design office, established in 2000 by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien.
Doshi Levien's work celebrates the hybrid and explores the coming together of cultures, technology, story telling, industrial design and fine craftsmanship. Working across disciplines and industries, they make their own rules that are based on extracting as much richness as possible out of an idea. Doshi Levien work for a broad range of clients, including Moroso, Swarovski, Intel, Camper, Authentics, Cappellini and BD Barcelona Design.
