Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt graduated from The Danish Design School in 1994. She has since worked primarily with unique ceramic pieces. In recent years, she has been focusing more on function and especially on wood as the most important material.

Vibeke Fonnesberg Scmidt explains: "Geometric forms have always been the starting points for my pieces. I think construction and composition are important to the end result, and I am constantly challenging myself by breaking away from existing boundaries. I want the observer to experience something - thus making the object come alive."
