Biography
Peter Ghyczy is a furniture designer who was born in 1940 in Budapest. After the 1956 revolution, Ghyczy fled to West Germany, where he studied architecture at the University of Aachen. He worked for Reuter where he headed the design section. He most famously designed the Garden Egg chair in 1968 that became a classic of industrial design as it explored the use of plastic in furniture. Ghyczy founded his own company in 1972.
