Miki Astori was born in Milan. After completing his studies as an architect in 1991, he started working with Antonia Astori as an interior designer.
In 1997 he spent a long period travelling to South Asia in search of new suppliers which could provide the best manufacturing techniques for his creations. He visited Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, China and Vietnam and developed a new family of products, balancing ancient traditions and oriental suggestions with typically western industrial methods and high standards of quality. Among raw materials, he prefers natural fibres like rattan, wood and iron which he usually combines and uses together, to obtain simple and defined structures.
