BAP, which stands for the German Bildschirm Arbeits Platz, is a lamp with a fluorescent light source, devised to resolve practical problems, such as reflection and dazzle caused by computers.

The BAP's light emission is designed to balance with the different degrees of screen brightness, so as to avoid eye strain. The quality of the joints and arm allow the lamp to effect soft and controlled movements to meet the user’s ergonomic needs.
For the first time, the problem was not simply to 'make light', but to 'reduce light', to make the lamp a useful tool in conjunction with another light-producing object - like a computer.
