Future Design Icon: Menu JWDA Table Lamp
Nest.co.uk explores the iconic Menu JWDA Table Lamp by Swedish designer Jonas Wagell.
The simplistic and beautifully crafted Menu JWDA Table Lamp has become a design icon. Created by Stockholm based designer Jonas Wagell and crafted from the finest concrete and brass materials, it’s a lamp that is iconic thanks to its versatility; it’s minimalist, raw and beautiful, all at once.
Its simplicity makes it one of the most versatile and timeless lighting pieces around. It looks perfect placed on coffee tables, shelving or even on a bedside table and can be positioned in any room of the home and will never look out of place.
JWDA Concrete Table Lamp – the original. How will you style yours?
Inspired by the design of traditional oil lamps, its curved white, opal glass shade creates a warm ambience and is both elegant and simple, making the lamp the perfect fit for any home regardless of your décor.
The industrial concrete base and steel dimmer knob is what makes it look so fashionable at the moment, perfectly complementing the neutral Scandinavian colour palette. Simultaneously, the lack of embellishment is what makes it the design icon piece it is today; a classic that will look as beautiful, softly glowing in homes of the future, as it does today.
There are three different styles of the lamp, including the JWDA Concrete Table Lamp in Dark Grey and Light Grey plus a Metallic brass option, all available at nest.co.uk. The new JWDA Metallic Table Lamp was launched this year at the North Modern Fair in Copenhagen and is perhaps a little warmer than the others, thanks to its gold solid brass base and bronzed brass dimmer knob.
