Each week, we bring you something a little bit different from the last, whether it be the latest design news, a classic design revisited, a recent exhibition or trip or an exclusive guest edit from an influential designer or blogger. Remember, we love to hear your feedback, so why not let us know what you think about our blog posts by email or Twitter? Enjoy!
Nest.co.uk at designjunction
Wow, what a show! We'd like to thank everyone who visited us at designjunction. Browse the gallery of our highlights from the show.
'Minty Fresh' Terrazzo
Often associated with public transport and supermarket floors, the composite material terrazzo is something that can easily be overlooked and ignored. However, we wanted to reveal the beauty of this material in a new light. Instead of opting for the typical Nest.co.uk green, we brought our stand to life with 'minty fresh' mint (as it was often described!) and different elements of terrazzo in print and literal form. And it proved to be a success!
The Nest.co.uk Design Clinic with 2 Lovely Gays
Fun, proactive and passionate, Jordan and Russell of 2 Lovely Gays seemed like the perfect match for our designjunction partnership and this turned out to be more than true! The interior design duo helped solve a number of design dilemmas in the Nest.co.uk Design Clinic, which they transformed into their own studio as their very own 'home away from home'.
Being based in Sheffield, it's not very often that we get to meet our lovely shoppers face-to-face and it was a wonderful experience to finally meet with you all and put a face to the many different names!
The Nest.co.uk pop-up shop featured a specially-curated range of contemporary furniture, lighting, home accessories and gifts from brands such as Hay, Vitra, Menu and Pulpo. If you didn't get to visit us at designjunction, then you can browse and shop the selection online.
The Nest.co.uk Buyers Lounge – #weareunicorns
What better way to relax than colouring in a unicorn?! The Nest.co.uk Buyers Lounge (joined with the Nest.co.uk Design Clinic) offered a relaxed and informal space to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the show and well, colour in a unicorn! This theme tied in with the seminar talk 'Interiors for Unicorns' that Christian Hawley (MD of Nest.co.uk) and 2 Lovely Gays presented on 27 September 2015, which focused on how we connect with Gen Y; the generation that has it all.
To press – If you'd like to use or feature any of the high-res images from the show, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0044 114 243 3000 (option 5) for further information and credits.
