Discipline: Beautifully Designed, Consciously Made
Everyday simplicity. Long lasting. Beauty. These are the three principles at the heart of up-and-coming design studio, Discipline.
Launched in 2012 by founder Renato Preti, Italian-based Discipline offer a good mix of practical and playful design. Their collection, which is tailored to suit our modern, hectic lives, includes an eclectic mix of furniture and accessories from dining chairs to hand-turned wooden birds, all, where possible, made from sustainable materials.
This dedication to environmental concerns is evident in their extensive use of natural, and even reclaimed, materials. Cork sits alongside wood, glass, copper and soft textured fabrics to create a homely, yet thoroughly modern, mix. Their irresistible Re-Turned bird collection is even made from recycled, leftover wooden scraps – proving that good design can be responsible too.
Discipline have an established and extensive design team on board, all of whom offer a unique spin to the Discipline philosophy. There are 17 designers who come from a total of 9 different countries including Max Lamb, Pauline Deltour, Luca Nichetto, Ding 3000 and Swedish trio, Claesson Koivisto Rune, among many others. Their work, whilst all maintaining their individual style, seamlessly meshes into the core Discipline philosophy.
All Discipline products feature aesthetic surprises and technical innovations, whilst remaining beautiful to look at and a joy to use.
